Why not immerse yourself in the cream of country football this weekend?

‘My Retro Media’ will broadcast the Great Southern Football League grand final between Mount Barker Bulls and North Albany Kangas this Sunday, September 18, from 2pm. The red & whites won the round three clash by 27 points this season but Mount Barker was successful in the last three by five, eight and four points. The latter being in the second semi-final. North Albany, Western Australia’s oldest football club in its Great Southern region (dating back to 1897), will be playing for its 27th league title. The Kangas won 15 premierships in the Albany Football Association, five in the former Southern Districts Football League and, this Sunday, will be chasing its seventh title in the GSFL. Since its inaugural season in 1994, Mount Barker seeks its second league premiership. The green & black’s sole crown came against Railways in 1996 and lost grand finals to Royals in 1999 and North Albany in 2005. It’s anyone’s ball game on Sunday! Hope to have your company…
Follow Ongerup Football Association’s attempt to win this season’s Division 2 Landmark Country Championship on the weekend of July 9 & 10, 2016, when ‘My Retro Media’ covers its games uninterrupted kick-for-kick. OFA plays the Regional All-Stars at 11am on the Saturday and Eastern Districts that afternoon at 4 o’clock. Both these qualifying matches will be played at East Fremantle Oval (ATOM Stadium) and the call is expected to start around 15 minutes before each game. If successful in making the grand final, you can also listen to the live broadcast from Leederville Oval (Medibank Stadium) from around noon on the Sunday.
‘My Retro Media’ cranks up its 2016 live broadcasts with the Great Southern Football League versus Ongerup Football Association night game at Sounness Park (Mount Barker) on Friday June 17. This match is the first in Western Australia of the new Landmark Country Football Championships’ format launched this season. Round 1 games will be played across the State before competition continues and concludes in Perth on the weekend of July 9 & 10. MRM will also cover all OFA games in Perth and its four finals as well. Joining me in commentary from 6.45pm for the forthcoming GSFL v OFA clash will be GSFL Director Adrian Marshall. We hope to have your company…
(1) Second Semi August 29 : (2) First Semi August 30 : (3) Preliminary September 5 & (4) Grand Final September 12. All live broadcasts start at 2pm
A live broadcast of the Round 14 game-of-the-day in the Ongerup Football Association will not happen this Saturday as I have a commitment of higher priority. Tim Green, Tate Barrett and myself will be back to call Jerramungup versus Newdegate in Round 15, the last qualifying round, on Saturday August 22 from 2 o’clock
Borden Magpies, following last Saturday’s first win of the season against Lake Grace / Pingrup at home, travel to Jerramungup this weekend to do battle with the second-placed Eagles. Although the win / loss record between these two teams is very lop-sided this season, Jerramungup (2nd 10/2) has experienced bottom side Borden (1/11) has performed more competitive against the reigning premier than anyone expected. Twelve-year-old apprentice commentator Tate Barrett will call this game along side me from 2 o’clock this Saturday via this website or at Great Southern Radio 1422AM.
