Because of the lack of sponsorship, the planned weekly broadcasts of Great Southern Football League matches this season on Albany Community Radio 100.9fm and this website has been stopped. Thank you if you supported the games we did broadcast. Gary Bartholomeusz

Railways prevailed by three points when it hosted Mount Barker at Tigerland in Series One of the Great Southern Football League this season so this weekend’s rematch may be a ripper! Railways remain undefeated after six rounds and the Bulls have dropped to third on the ladder with a four win two loss record. This Saturday’s broadcast (June 9) starts at 2.15pm on Albany Community Radio 100.9fm and also the My Retro Media website courtesy of sponsor Retravision Albany. Why not join Rob Schorer and myself for the call?

Anyone capable, interested and available each Saturday during this football season in calling games on Albany Community Radio and to this website, please contact me by mobile phone 0428 514 605 or e-mail gj.bartholomeusz@westnet.com.au. Gary Bartholomeusz

Royals Lions (4th 2 wins / 3 losses) host third-placed Mount Barker Bulls (3 / 2) at Centennial Stadium this Saturday, June 2, 2018, in a clash which could possibly ensure the winner a berth in this season’s Great Southern Football League finals. Mount Barker won the Round 1 game between the two by ten goals but both seem to be on a par this time around. This weekend’s GSFL matches are a part of the Mens’ Regional Health Round for the West Australian Country Football League. The live broadcast will begin at 2.15pm on Albany Community Radio 100.9fm and the ‘My Retro Media‘ website…

Albany Community Radio 100.9fm and My Retro Media team together to broadcast live this Saturday’s (May 26, 2018) Round 5 clash for second spot on the Great Southern Football League ladder when third-placed Mount Barker hosts second-placed North Albany. Both share three wins and a loss. Join Albany Advertiser’s Tim Edmunds and myself from 2.15pm…

GSFL Grand Final

‘My Retro Media’ will broadcast the Great Southern Football League grand final between Mount Barker Bulls and North Albany Kangas this Sunday, September 18, from 2pm. The red & whites won the round three clash by 27 points this season but Mount Barker was successful in the last three by five, eight and four points. The latter being in the second semi-final. North Albany, Western Australia’s oldest football club in its Great Southern region (dating back to 1897), will be playing for its 27th league title. The Kangas won 15 premierships in the Albany Football Association, five in the former Southern Districts Football League and, this Sunday, will be chasing its seventh title in the GSFL. Since its inaugural season in 1994, Mount Barker seeks its second league premiership. The green & black’s sole crown came against Railways in 1996 and lost grand finals to Royals in 1999 and North Albany in 2005. It’s anyone’s ball game on Sunday! Hope to have your company…
