MAGPIES SEEKING FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON

Borden Magpies will strive to win its first Ongerup Football Association game in season 2015 when it faces third-placed Newdegate Lions at home on Saturday June 6 and ‘My Retro Media’ will broadcast the encounter from 2pm. The other two OFA fixtures on this day will be Jerramungup (2nd 4/1) hosting Lake Grace / Pingrup (5th 1/5) while unbeaten Gnowangerup will be at home against Boxwood Hill (4th 2/3). Matches statewide on the same weekend will be a part of the Talk-to-a-Mate Round.

TOP TWO CLASH ON SATURDAY IN THE OFA

Gnowangerup Bulldogs (2nd 3/0) host top side Jerramungup Eagles (also 3/0) in Ongerup Football Association’s clash-of-Round 4 this Saturday, May 16. The Bulldogs have beaten Boxwood Hill, Newdegate and Lake Grace / Pingrup in the opening three rounds of season 2015 while reigning premier Jerramungup has successfully dealt with Lake Grace / Pingrup, Boxwood Hill, then Borden. This weekend’s game will be a real character test for the home team against the Association’s trendsetter – which has won six of the past seven premierships. Gnowangerup, playing away, had an upset win over Jerramungup in Round 9 last year and, prior to this, its previous losing qualifying match came on May 21, 2011, when the Bulldogs again upset the gold and blacks at Tambellup Oval. This season’s Gnowangerup side seems to be its strongest of the past decade but Saturday should give OFA fans the clearest indication.
